Season 11: My Thoughts on the Latest Promos
I share my thoughts on the recent promos from Hallmark, Super Channel, GOOD, Episode Titles, and NEW photos for Season 11 of When Calls the Heart.
We have not received an official trailer from Hallmark yet. However, Super Channel has dropped a preview and Hallmark has sprinkled some brief scenes into their Spring into Love promos and released the First Look Video. We also have the episode titles and synopsis for the first 4 episodes. Additionally, we have photos from the first 3 episodes from Hallmark Media Press.
Hallmark Channel First Look
The First Look from Hallmark Channel is short and to the point. The announcer calls it a bold new season.
Recap: Elizabeth wants to change her and Nathan thinks she “looks great.”
My Thoughts: To echo Elizabeth in the first Season 11 Preview, “Change is in the air!” Hope Valley is entering the roaring 20s and with that comes changes. Plus Elizabeth is newly single and adjusting to that life but something tells me she won’t have to for long. Elizabeth is getting shorter hair and a shortened hemline. Meanwhile, Nathan isn’t shy about expressing how great she looks publicly. Hmmm. Thought-provoking and intriguing if you ask me!
GOOD TV Promo
The GOOD promo is jam-packed with lots of goodies and heart-stopping moments! On behalf of your fellow Hearties in other countries, THANK YOU AUSTRALIA!
Recap: Lots of surprises are in store including a birthday party for Nathan, growing romances, new dangers, new partnerships, new hairstyles, and MORE! Mei and Hickam are enjoying their relationship. Meanwhile, Nathan and Elizabeth are figuring out their feelings. Rosemary, Bill, and Nathann are hot on the trial of a bad guy.
My Thoughts: Yall, I am so excited about everything this Season! First, the hair touch between Nathan and Elizabeth still has me on the floor! Of course, he is likely picking something out of her air but still, it’s amazing. I am interested in seeing Mei and Hickam grow as a couple. We’ve seen a lot of flirty moments which is great but now it’s time to dig deeper. I can not wait to see Rosemary, Bill, and Nathan team up to take down the bad guys. Entering the roaring 20s will bring big changes and I cannot wait to see how WCTH addresses them. Elizabeth is sporting a new hairstyle and hemline more fitting of the era. Of course, I am eager to see how Lucas’s storyline plays out and excited for him to settle into his role as Governor. This will bring a new, much-needed depth to his character. Lastly, I cannot wait to see beautiful scenery along with friendships, new and old, blossom!
Super Channel Promo
The new themes in this promo for Season 11 are friendship, romance, and hope. Let’s explore these and some potential storylines based on the promo!
Friendship:
We see Bill and Rosemary have teamed up as unlikely partners. Rosemary as the investigative journalist and Bill as the inspector team up to work toward exposing the corrupt politicians. I can imagine this is what happens or something similar. Regardless, I am so excited to see them work together this season. Plus, it seems like they let Nathan, the Mountie, in on their plans and share information. PERFECT!
Romance:
It’s not a secret Nathan and Elizabeth are at the center of the romance storylines this season. I am so excited we finally get to see them explore their romantic sides with each other. In the promo clip, Nathan says “That would be great” and Elizabeth says, “Great.” I suspect it is related to a date or family gathering with the kids. Either way, I am thrilled we will see this unravel on our screens.
Another romance is brewing involving Mei Sou and Mike Hickam. This one intrigues me and I look forward to seeing it fleshed out more in Season 11. We saw Mei and Mike share many flirty moments in Season 10. I hope to see those continue this season as they deepen their relationship.
Hope:
It sounds like the people of Hope Valley and the surrounding community are venturing into new territory as we enter the roaring 20s. That is exciting! Also, from the looks of it we will celebrate two birthdays, Nathan and Goldie’s!
Episode Titles & Synopsis
Episode 1: When Stars Align
Elizabeth turns over a new leaf; Nathan returns home from an investigation, while Bill questions its outcome; Rosemary chases a scoop; Lucas makes a surprise announcement.
What a fitting title for the Season 11 premiere! If you remember the finale of Season 10 was titled Starry Nights so it seems like a fitting continuation. We can gather from other promotional content one of the themes of Season 11 will be renewal which makes sense with Elizabeth turning over a new leaf. We’ve seen her new hairstyle and shortened hemline so they are leaning into the roaring 20s! Nathan is diving head-first into an investigation which I can only assume is related to the water diversion storyline and Lucas’s shooting. It appears there is more to the story that Bill & Rosemary will start investigating. I’m curious about Lucas’s surprise announcement!
Episode 2: Tomorrow Never Knows
Elizabeth and Allie plan a birthday party for Nathan; Lee and Rosemary weigh business responsibilities against family time; Lucas settles into his role as governor.
I am thrilled to celebrate an adult’s birthday in Hope Valley, and even more excited it is Nathan’s birthday. I love that Elizabeth and Allie will spend time together planning a surprise party for Nathan. A future between Nathan and Elizabeth will only work if Allie is on board. (I am sure she is!) Based on this description we will see Rosemary and Lee struggle with maintaining a good work-life balance. This is something I was hoping we would see because it’s realistic! I can’t wait to explore that more. Lucas is finally settling in as Governor and I am curious what that will look like. In a Heart to Hearties interview, Chris McNally said we would see Lucas in Hope Valley and Capitol City. That will bring much-needed change and depth to his character AND the show.
Episode 3: Steps Forward
Rosemary and Bill team up to investigate a case they believe shouldn't be closed; the women of Hope Valley start a daycare; Hickam and Mei celebrate a milestone.
Rosemary & Bill are the newest investigative team in Hope Valley. This will be interesting because we’ve seen Rosemary strike out and investigate in Season 9, so it’s exciting to explore her investigative journalism skills again! A Daycare is the newest business in Hope Valley and that intrigues me. I wonder if all the women will be involved or if it will primarily be 2 or 3 women. My guess is the latter. Mei and Hickam are the newest romantic couple in Hope Valley. These two shared many flirty and sweet moments in Season 10, so I hope to see some growth that deepens their relationship. As for their milestone, I suspect it is their 1st anniversary!
Episode 4: Along Came a Spider
It's Easter in Hope Valley, so Elizabeth organizes an egg hunt with help from Nathan; a visitor from Lucas' past gets the town talking; Angela and Cooper seek to mend a relationship.
Now this episode is the one I’m the MOST excited for! Easter in Hope Valley is something I have been wanting for a long time. I want to hear Pastor Joseph give a sermon on the meaning of Easter. It’s also fun that Elizabeth and Nathan are working together to organize an Easter egg hunt! I still stand by the prediction the visitor from Lucas’s past is Janette, so I hope we get to see her. I wonder what relationship Angela and Cooper will mend. Perhaps one with a fellow student or someone we won’t know about until we’ve seen Episodes 1-3? So many questions and excitement!
